Running a series of web pages such as these is not a solo job.
I have many people to thank. First and foremost I thank my wife for
putting up with my long hours and obsession with the weather.
Next, I thank my fantastic coworkers here at NCAR who make this
the dream job (working on exciting topics with very talented people).
From the RAP software engineering side, I especially thank Paddy
McCarthy for his excellent Java contributions. From the System
Administration side, I appreciate the many years of support from
Terri Eads, Tres Hofmeister, and Jeff Stolte. Many people in RAP
are responsible for keeping the data flowing but Celia Chen keep
most NWS datafeeds running smoothly from the LDM side. Ethan Alpert
and Mary Haley of NCAR's Scientific Computing Division are a
huge help with all the NCAR Graphics
products seen here.

Besides all the NCAR support of these web pages,
there's a good deal of support that comes from the entire computing
community - most of it for FREE! The Linux movement has been a
big boost providing free software tools of all sorts. I am deeply
indebted to Linux developers worldwide for the best OS on the planet.
Thanks also go to the developers of tools such as Perl, PHP, MySQL, and
Javascript, which are heavily used to bring you this site.

The raw observational data used in producing
these pages are provided by Unidata.
Most, if not all, of the meteorological data collection and instrumentation
is done by the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
and the
National Weather Service (NWS).
Most numerical model data originate from NOAA's
National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP)
in Washington D.C.

Last, but certainly not least, I want to thank
my parents and all teachers for the work they do inspiring
children to become scientists. A teacher of mine who deserves special
recognition is a former science teacher at Villa Cresta Elementary (in
Parkville, MD), Mr. Smith. If only you knew what your inspiration in
science (and weather) led to eventually. To those teachers out there reading
this page, I hope my minor contribution to the web is used as a tool in
your classrooms inspiring more kids like me!
